Horse Show Photographer

Just an update on Horse Show Pictures. Nicole continues to edit, edit, edit. Pictures are color and light corrected, have extraneous things cropped out, and are adjusted to highlight the horse and rider.

Give her as much information as possible: name, rider number, horse color, rider outfit (white hat, black hat, hard hat), division winner, etc.

She does have an Etsy Store http://www.etsy.com/shop/mcminico .
However, there are not yet any pictures posted there.

Please forgive her any delay - she was unwittingly swindled into taking division championship and challenge trophy pictures by the announcer; she didn't have time to make business cards or have a list of show-special packages to distribute. She enjoys fine art photography as a hobby apart from her regular full time job.

By the end of the weekend, she had enough pictures that she asked to reach out to exhibitors to share pictures of the fantastic weekend. She does currently have a web designer building a website that will handle the scale and the quality of the pictures she took.

Goose Day Show Photos - Thank You Nicole McMillin!

If you were at Saturday's Open Show, you may have encountered a woman taking pictures.

Nicole McMillin traveled from Mifflin County to photograph the presentation of the championship awards for the Goose Day Open Horse Show. She generously donated her time, as well as the championship pictures, to the horse show management for use in next year's program. One of the things we love is to be able to feature past winners in the program each year.
This year, Nicole is helping us make that possible.

The picture on the previous post, "The Show Must Go On," was also donated by Nicole who was kind enough to send along pictures at midnight so we could update the site immediately.

Of course there was a great deal of time between award presentations. She spent that time experimenting with pictures while you were showing. There are over 2,200 photos from Saturday!

I have seen about 200 of these pictures and they are beautiful. The perfect weather and the afternoon sun have made these some of the best pictures of the Goose Day Show I have ever seen.

She has a great deal of reviewing and editing to do, but if you are interested in photos contact her immediately so she can focus in on yours. And again, Nicole, thank you so much for your long day (and your late night!).

The Show Must Go On!

Saturday's show was fantastic! Thank you to the 80+ exhibitors who came out.
Despite the muddy ring B, the sunshine, wind, and temperature made for a perfect show day.

There are far too many individuals to thank for their help and devotion to the show, not only for this year but for many years past. This is the 20th year for the Mifflin County Goose Day Horse Show.

Thank you so much to the exhibitors and their friends and family members -- not only for keeping things running smoothly and safely but also for helping throughout the day.
This is the first show day I can recall where there were no problems with a horse running away or a rider falling off and being injured. Helping close the gate or assisting someone on an unruly horse to navigate into the ring really does so much to keep things on track! Every little bit truly helps.

Our Judge Ms. Terry Piper kept things moving along and the last class of the day finished around 6:30pm. I don't have the name of her ring mistress here, but she did a fantastic job despite the hand radio batteries dying repeatedly late in the afternoon.

Richard Walters, in addition to his many responsibilities as show manager, judged the Jumper division. He designed a beautiful show ground this year.

Show Secretaries Liz Weicht, Tammy Means, and Kristi Morrison were very busy all day long.
Our EMT Deb Mease was onhand ringside but thankfully her services weren't required!

Unfortunately, LaCosta Spickler, who was scheduled to be our ring mistress was ill. She was missed and we hope she recovers from her surgery very soon.

Francine Sciortino worked diligently as point secretary. Congratulations to her on having all of the division champions done AHEAD of the announcements and all of the trainer award totals done within minutes of the show end!

I know everyone is tired, it was a beautiful but very long day, but the show must go on!
Tomorrow, the hunters take over the Grange Fair Grounds......
